The Council of Kaunas University of Technology (hereinafter – KTU), representing a forward-looking, diverse and open KTU community uniting more than 2,000 employees and more than 10,000 students, is looking for the University Rector for a five-year term of office.

The University's mission is to provide research-based studies at international level; to develop and to transfer knowledge and innovative technologies for sustainable development of the State and development of innovations; to provide an open creative environment, which inspires talents and leaders.

 The University's vision – leading European university focusing on creating and transferring new knowledge and technologies to the society.

 The main duties of the Rector:

• Development and implementation of the University's strategy
• Assurance of the efficient and productive functioning of the University
• Identification of financial priorities and effective distribution of resources
• Representation of the University in Lithuania and in international arena
• Performance of the functions of the Rector as described in KTU Statute

From the Rector we expect:

• ‍Strategic thinking, personal leadership, experience in management and teaching
• ‍ International experience at educational institutions in other countries
• ‍Experience of change management
• ‍Impeccable reputation
• ‍Academic degree and/or an official status of a renowned artist
• ‍Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of Lithuanian is an advantage
• ‍Experience of management of a large organisation, excellent communication and representation skills
