• Scientific community keen to learn and share about community engagement

‍Please note: It is important to have at least one person from support and one scientific staff from each ECIU University in the workshops.

Structure of the workshop:

• Introduction into the TEFCE Self-Reflection Framework for Community Engagement by Thomas Farnell (TEFCE project coordinator, Institute for the Development of Education, Croatia)
• The Pilot at the University of Twente by Anete Veidemane & Don Westerheijden (CHEPS, University of Twente)
• Moderated workshops on good practises on community engagement in Europe

Why participate?

Community engagement of universities is complex, requiring expertise and resources. CHEPS (Center for Higher Education Policy Studies) and ECIU (European Consortium of Innovative Universities) are partners of the Erasmus+ Project TEFCE that developed for European Institutions a Framework in Community Engagement http://www.tefce.eu/toolbox). In this workshop, we will present the benefits of this toolbox and hear about the pilot of the University of Twente. In the second part of the interactive workshop, we would like you to reflect and share good practises and challenges in community engagement across the ECIU network.

• When is a university actually successful in community engagement?
