This May, ten teams from across Europe gathered at the University of Aveiro for Creationthon 2025, a three-day challenge focused on creating impactful solutions for a sustainable future. Here’s how it unfolded and what the participants had to say.
Overview

- Participants: 55 participants from all over Europe
- Main theme: Unlocking B2B opportunities in the Energy Transition
The goal was to develop business-led solutions for a more sustainable future in the energy sector. Ten multidisciplinary and multicultural teams worked together to address real-world challenges presented by Th!nk, the initiative’s partner and Portugal’s largest producer of biofuels.
Teams worked on venture projects across topics such as:
- Optimising energy services
- Rethinking logistics
- Reducing resource use
Winning Teams
- Main Prize: Awarded to Bioneers — a project focused on improving the relationship with the company’s raw material suppliers.
- Audience Award: Given to the team with the best presentation, chosen by audience vote.
