This May, ten teams from across Europe gathered at the University of Aveiro for Creationthon 2025, a three-day challenge focused on creating impactful solutions for a sustainable future. Here’s how it unfolded and what the participants had to say.

Overview

  • Dates: May 19–21st
  • Location: University of Aveiro, Portugal
  • Participants: 55 participants from all over Europe
  • Main theme: Unlocking B2B opportunities in the Energy Transition

The goal was to develop business-led solutions for a more sustainable future in the energy sector. Ten multidisciplinary and multicultural teams worked together to address real-world challenges presented by Th!nk, the initiative’s partner and Portugal’s largest producer of biofuels.

Teams worked on venture projects across topics such as:

  • Optimising energy services
  • Rethinking logistics
  • Reducing resource use

Winning Teams

  • Main Prize: Awarded to Bioneers — a project focused on improving the relationship with the company’s raw material suppliers.
  • Audience Award: Given to the team with the best presentation, chosen by audience vote.
