Festival day – 10th of June 2026
For just one day, one part of the campus of University of Twente turns into an ENHANCE village. Dutch and/or English speaking people of all ages, countries and disciplines (locals/students/academics/government) are welcome! Together with various partners, the project team is working enthusiastically on creating a memorable experience for you. More details will follow soon. To give you an idea, here is a glimpse of what is to come:
- Explore the futures of six countries: Enter the temporary homes of each country involved: a multisensory experience of the culture and futures created in Lithuania, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Portugal and the Netherlands. Researchers and country representatives will be more than happy to answer all of your questions.
- Engage in the presentations: A scheduled programme with presentations from researchers who are passionate about taking you with them in their learning process of tackling societal challenges together with their local communities.
- Join mini futures workshops: Think about well-being, climate, the development of artificial intelligence: it is happening all around us. We are all responsible for taking action: for ourselves, our peers and our communities. But how to do this? Two moderators will guide you through futures thinking processes. In Dutch and English, audiences 16+.
- Apply futuring tools yourself: Are you interested in applying futuring techniques in your work, study or research? There will be a booth with tools, tips and tricks that you can touch and play with. As a visitor of this festival, you will see the prerelease of the methodology guide, that you can take home with you.
- Boulevard: Pre-University has a special programme in store for young people between 4-18 years. Parents: Take them with you. Or sign up yourself!
- No festival without food, drinks and music: When you enter the area, you will receive free tokens so can enjoy some (healthy) sweets and drinks. Music will be provided by local musicians of Twente.
- Connect with like-minded people: Join the Co-Creating Futures Network.
- Some programme elements will remain to be a surprise. Come and witness yourself!
