Project overview
AVAIN is a frontier research initiative aimed at improving the sustainability and efficiency of European manufacturing sector, involving leading industrial and academic partners. The project focuses on optimizing Additive Manufacturing (AM) for sustainable repair and remanufacturing, addressing technological challenges while enhancing economic viability and industry adoption. It will also explore Ultrasonic Vibration (UV)-assisted Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) to refine material microstructures and improve mechanical properties through AI-driven real-time monitoring.
