Visiting Students - EUR 1500,00; Fee waivers may apply in the case of student exchange schemes like Erasmus; Students wishing to do a single course unit from an Exchange Package can opt to apply for “isolated course units” where the fees range from €40,00 - €60.00 per ECTS credit, depending on subject area.

The Courses

Urban Metabolism - 6 ECTS

Contribute to students to make use of their knowledge of transport phenomena, bio-physics, and engineering technologies, leading them to apply new methods and models for estimating urban flows, allowing gain sensitivity to the approximations that can be made in engineering and arising in urban planning. Students should be able to:

- understand the functioning of cities as a living organism, complex and in close interaction and dependence on the surrounding environment, particularly in terms of the flows of materials, energy, infrastructure, emissions and waste;

- develop analysis of inflows and outflows, and analysis of quality, through the application of dedicated tools;

- evaluate the efficiency and performance of cities and help to identify opportunities to promote efficiency, improvement and transformation of urban areas, applying the adequate technologies/infrastructures.

Environmental Management Systems - 6 ECTS

Give knowledge necessary for the understanding and assessment of the elements of an environmental management system according to different available standards as well as other environmental management tools.

Natural, Technological And Industrial Risk - 8 ECTS

To provide information about the theoretical concepts of Hazard, Risk, Disaster and Vulnerability, Risk Assessment and Management, Risk Perception and Communication.To characterise natural and technological hazards, in general, and to provide detailed information on relevant hazards at national or local level.To provide tools in risk assessment and management in natural and technological hazards.

Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Planning - 6 ECTS

The main goal of ICZMP is to enable the students with reflective and interventional skills about coastal areas in latus sensus.

Conversion Of Renewable Energies - 6 ECTS

Introduce the fundamentals of conversion of renewable energy sources, namely:

1. Ocean Thermal Energy Converters (OTEC);

2. Solar radiation;

3. Wind energy;

4. Biomass.

How to apply

Application procedure is similar to mobility applications, that is, candidates are either appointed by their institutions of origin or the candidate addresses directly the International Office that guides the candidate and contacts the candidate’s institution of origin. Application may be done on paper, by post and by email and is checked by the International Office.

What are the necessary documents?

- application form

- learning agreement signed by the candidate and the institutions of origin

- transcript of records

- photocopy of valid personal identification document (ID card or passport)
