Latest policy paper shows ECIU University's perspective on the future of ESG

As ECIU University works to support micro-credentials and flexible learning pathways as a crucial part of the higher education landscape in Europe, the 'Building trust in flexible learning: ECIU University's vision of the future of the ESG' policy paper focuses on the revision of the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG).
'The paper argues that quality assurance systems must evolve to reflect the realities of modern education, where learners engage in shorter, modular, challenge-based, and cross-border learning opportunities,' says Dr Mairéad Nic Giolla Mhichíl, the paper's author, Micro-Credential Lead at ECIU University and Director of Micro-Credential Strategy and Innovation at Dublin City University.
'It places ECIU University at the forefront of discussions on how trust, recognition, and quality can be maintained as higher education becomes more flexible and learner-centred.'
Together with the recent 'Towards a European Skills Ecosystem' policy paper, it spotlights ECIU University's efforts in both integrating micro-credentials into existing educational frameworks and helping shape the European policy environment to support their long-term recognition, quality assurance, and adoption across Europe.
