‘Students want to save the world, and ECIU University can prepare them for doing just this,’ says ECIU University Student Council vice president and Linköping University student Ellen Andersson as she begins her closing speech at the ECIU University Forum 2024.
For the next ten minutes, she will be talking about students’ perspective on ECIU University, the possibilities it creates for them, and her own journey as a student representative and part of the community. She will also ask an important question – what is it that students truly want?
As Ellen’s own research at member universities shows, there’s more than one answer. Students want to connect and collaborate across disciplines and specialities. They want to explore and solve real-life problems. They want to stay up-to-date with the modern technology and challenges. They want to learn more effectively and gain new skills. And, last but not least, they want to make a real impact – both on their future and the world.
‘We really want to save the world, but sometimes we feel like we lack resources to do so,’ Ellen explains.
That’s where ECIU University steps in. With a focus on flexible and personalised learning, interdisciplinary teamwork, and real-life problems’ solving, it offers students the opportunity to not just study and grow, but make a difference.
